I can confirm that AppCake works on Geeksn0w's 7.1.1, but the AppSync from the iPhoneCake Repo does not (at least not for me, so try using it before trying the steps below).

If the AppSync for 7.0+ from iPhoneCake Repo (cydia.iphonecake.com) does not work on Geeksn0w's 7.1.1, the AppSync from Smolk @ MyRepoSpace.com works fine for me.

1. Open Cydia, and go to Manage. Click on Sources (red globe icon)

2. On the Sources page, in the top right-hand corner, there is "Edit". Tap it.

3. Upon tapping "Edit", the word "Add" should appear in the top-left hand corner. Tap it.

4. Enter this URL into the box that pops up (no box pops-up? Try tapping "Add" again):

http://smolk.myrepospace.com/

5. Tap "Add Source". Cydia will do its thing and and a button at the bottom of the screen will appear when it's done. Tap it. You should be back at the Sources page.

6. Tap the newly added "smolk - MyRepoSpace.c..." (If you can't see it, try scrolling down the list. If it isn't there, try Steps 3 through 5 again.)

7. Scroll down Smolk's repo until you find "AppSync iOS 7.x". Tap it.

8. Tap "Install" in the top-right hand corner. Tap "Confirm" in the top-right hand corner.

9. Cydia will install this AppSync. Once it says "Reboot" or "Respring device" (or something like that), just power off by holding the power button down, then sliding.

10. PLug your iPhone into a computer, and launch Geeksn0w. Click "iPhone 4 (your version here)" (I use a GSM, but yours may be Rev A or CDMA)

11. Power up and AppSync should be working!

According to their website (geeksn0w.it), 7.1.2 is supported, but I'd recommend Pangu to jailbreak, since it is untethered, while Geeksn0w is only Semi-Untethered.

If you wish to, than yes, Geeksn0w should work.
Or, if you want to jailbreak with Pangu (since it is untethered), there is a guide here:

Good luck!

geeksnow works but the teethered gets annoying.

I have read though if you have the teetthered geeksnow jb done then you can install p0sixspwn from cydia and make it unteethered.

I cannot confirm that as i dumped geeksnow and went to Pangu.

What do you mean by "not activated"?

I don't think Pangu currently Hacktivates right now...sorry :(

I know Geeksn0w does as of version 2.7 and higher. But Geeksn0w only jailbreaks up to 7.0.6.
If you want a Hacktivated iPhone, I think you should stick with iOS 7.0.6 and jailbreak with Geeksn0w, which is supposed to Hacktivate.

Good luck!
