10.3.1 some self-signed IPAs crash. Why?

crash 10.3.1

Best Answer user_hidden , 22 May 2017 - 02:37 PM

apps cracked on iOS-9 that have iOS-10 frameworks they are removed.
if an app is cracked on iOS-10 the frameworks are cracked properly.

that being said some apps have issues when sideloaded on non jailbroken devices Go to the full post »

Hello guys,

I was wondering what the deal is with certain apps that crash on launch. Visible Body IPAs, to be precise. I am able to run other IPAs, such as Deezer++ and other such apps, and those don't crash on launch.

Does it mean that certain apps have an internal check? Has impactor failed to sign those IPAs properly? Is 10.3.1 too much of a stretch in terms of what's possible to sign?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Update:

  • no outgoing connections are made
  • obviously no jailbreak, so that can't be the internal check
  • I tried previous versions of the same app, different crackers, rc### (rasticrack) versions as well. No change.

normally that means it's a bad crack or not signed properly

Yes, I can confirm that the same app that crashes on load (Human Anatomy Atlas, version 8.0.27, requires iOS 7.0+) on iOS 10.3.1 iPhone is able to run just fine on a jailbroken iPad, iOS 8.4. It does however crash on start when side-loaded on a non-jailbroken 9.3.3 iPad via impactor.

To double check that sideloading is the issue, I sideloaded it onto the 8.4 iPad, after removing AppSync. App didn't crash but the developer certificate was not present in settings app. I don't have an unjailbroken iOS 8.4 device to test if it's sideloading that fails, or iOS 9.

The newer 2017 version of the same app that requires iOS 9+ also crashes when sideloaded onto 9.3.3 iPad.

My testing has been inconclusive, with the exception of the fact that it is confirmed:

- sideloaded Visible Body apps crash on load on iOS 9, and iOS 10.
