I bought a used phone and the user wiped it with something, so pretty much everything is gone from Cydia but some apps were left installed including Appcake.

I tried installing it just to uninstall it, but it's not removing it.  All the stuff is being left running on the phone and I want it gone.

To clarify: appcake hooks the appstore and is still connecting to apiproxy.app-cake.com servers.  It still had a startup process under /etc/bin, as well as the /Applications that are not being removed.  It's left data folders in the file system including under /Media.  I've attempted to install+uninstall multiple times including disabling substrate, so I would like to hear from the admins on this for instructions on how to manually move all components or at least fix the package from Cydia so it uninstalls correctly.

If I restore, the jailbreak is gone.

Is there any way to get info on how Appcake hooks the app store so I can try manually removing it?  I've been digging through the phone system for a day and still can't find what it modified.  I can remove the rest of it like the /etc/usr processes, and I can clear out the actual app.  But I really need it cleaned out of the appstore and would appreciate help.

appcake is an APP that would be placed in the application folder....that's it !

there are no mobilesubstrate hooks or anything like that.

your issue is with your device.
