The pre-installed iBooks or Books app on IOS version 14.6 seems quite inferior to me. In regards to organising many books in the library. The book thumbnails are too big and the manual ordering is slow and bugged. It works much better on my older iPad with IOS 8.1.3. That older iBooks version is v4.1.1 from december 2014. I suppose the trouble started with iBooks v4.2 from IOS 12.

Now of course I found some IPA archives of iBooks in the internet, but these all turned out to be 32-bit, and therefor already incompatible.

I attempted to copy the installation folder of v4.1.1 from my ipad and zip it into an IPA file, using Windows, but it gives an installation error when I try to install it to the newer iPad.

Any tips? Is this at all possible?

I also have this Cydia Appstore++ tool, which gives app-downgrade options. Though for iBooks all available options fail.

I also tried some 3rd party readers, but iBooks wins out on rendering most ePubs with images properly, where others fail.

At first I had the same thought, But look at apple's own iBooks Changelog, right below their crappy 4.2 update:

https://iphone.apkpu...om.apple.ibooks

"4.13;  2017-09-20;  Bug fixes, performance improvements, and support for iOS 11"

Since iOS 11 does not run 32-bit apps, there must have been ARM64 versions of ibooks 4.13. (is that the same as 4.1.3?..)

Thanks, Much appreciated!

.....

As an experiment I zipped with Filza the iBooks.app from IOS 8.1.3, being v4.1.1:

https://www.mediafir...-8.1.3.zip/file

It looks like it is not encrypted?

When I replace the executable in your "iBooks [Apple] (v3.1.3 v1929 Univ os50)-user_hidden.rc333_511.ipa" with this v4.1.1 one, I get no 32-bit error with 3utools installation, but install fails at 73% due to appsync error anyways.

Hi Guys,

If you have a specific issue with iBooks on iOS 14.6, it's recommended to contact Apple Support for assistance or consider updating your device to the latest iOS version for a more stable experience.
